Here is a little inspiration for our newest flags ship design that will be released this The Olson Observation Tower!⁣

This tower is one of the few remaining fire towers in Monongahela National Forest. This tower was West Virginia's first fire tower, originally built by the state in 1922. Fire towers like this one provide housing and protection for a person known as a "fire lookout" whose duty it is to search for wildfires in the wilderness. The fire lookout tower is a small building, usually located on the summit of a mountain or other high vantage point, in order to maximize the viewing distance and range, known as view shed. ⁣

Olson Tower is named after Ernst B. Olson in recognition of 28 years of fire control and conservation program service to Monongahela National Forest. While the cab is not open to the public, the entire walkway up to the top is accessible. The tower provides 360-degree views of the surrounding area including the Cheat River watershed, Parsons, Blackwater Canyon, Canaan Mountain, Backbone Mountain and the Otter Creek Wilderness.⁣
